Sunday Sessions @ Draft House Charlotte
Matthew regularly frequents the Sunday Sessions events down at the Draft House on Charlotte St, and I'm always a bit jealous when he comes home with tall tales of epic food adventures so I let him drag me along to the event in June hosted by the Wild Beer Co. It featured a bunch of "sour beers" which apparently I enjoy, so why not.
Sunday Sessions is a good excuse to eat some nice food and drink some nice beer, as matched by the Draft House team in collaboration with a different brewery each time.
It all sounds a bit random, so I just went with it. The beers were pretty tasty, and the food was delicious.
Yeah that guy is smoking fish on a bar! It was all pretty chilled out. A perfect Sunday afternoon, maxin'n relaxin'.
I'm not a beer blogger (I leave that to the expert in our house) so I don't have much to say about this day, other than I could have eaten these butternut squash balls all day until I exploded and died. But I only got one. Insert a single, golden tear.
I just had a really nice afternoon, taking photographs and chatting with people, eating good food and having a few cold sour beers.
Looking back at these photographs, its funny to me that all of the colours are perfectly matching as well. Beetroot tart and blackcurrant beer - perfect. Also lets give this Basil Crème Brulee its moment to shine, I could literally eat tubs and tubs of this stuff.
I'm not sure I'd become a Sunday Sessions regular, just because I'm not generally a huge beer drinker (novelty sour/fruit beers aside) but I highly recommend popping down if you are. Its a good time.
Sunday Sessions are held at the Draft House on Charlotte St in central London. You can find out more on the Draft House website.
