we're like crystal
Psst - I've done a wee guest blog over on bespoke home! Head over there if you want to read about crystals and why I like working with them.
Feelin' it Friday: Et Respice Finem
I've tried this before on the blog only to promptly forget about it, so lets try it again with a new twist. Lets focus Feelin' it Friday on my favourite Etsy stores. Yeah?
Obviously I have to start this new phenomenon with the wife's store, newly launched with a new name and rebrand as Et Respice Finem. We shot her new stock in a disused, abandoned chemical factory in Leeds and I'm pretty proud of how good they look and how fantastic her new line is. Taking inspiration from a nuclear winter, she's conjured just a great grey, black, dark red palette for the winter season. And you can get 15% off with the code FALLOUT to celebrate this relaunch.
I also have it on good authority that she IS bringing back the ever popular gold leafed bone pieces in the future. Panic ye not!

A Seasonal Memory
This one time we had a pumpkin carving polaroid party.

Left to Rot
This was the setting for the photo shoot I did with Lauren for her new Winter line of jewellery. It is what is left of a chemical plant near her flat in Leeds. A huge overgrown expanse of concrete, the odd window and doorway left to rot. At one end is a bridge over the river. Apple trees grow where I imagine employees threw their apple cores 20 odd years ago (I always think about this when I see an apple tree growing somewhere it shouldn't be). We were there for ten minutes before some kid climbed the makeshift wall closing off the bridge and scared the living daylights out of us. Its a great spot. I just realised most of the photos I shot while there were on her camera for her lookbook (you can see some of it here), but here are a few I managed to grab on mine when not 'at work'.

About Polar regions?
And a visit to Scott's hut?
I apologise if you follow me on twitter - there will be a lot of excitement over this.
More info HERE and an amazing trailer which just had me clapping my hands in glee* HERE
FYI I've later been informed through the wonder that is twitter that the above snaps were taken by Jason Roberts. Nice one!

Swiss Cottage, Leeds.
If you are the kind of person who, like me, likes other peoples unwanted crap, and you find yourself in the fine city of Leeds, I highly recommend you take a trip to Swiss Cottage just off Burley Road. Its huge, its amazing, and the gentlemen who run it are fantastic. Lauren took me there at the weekend and they couldn't understand why you would take someone from London to a place like their store.
Somehow I came away with only a tin (as if you didn't guess) a thermos and a pile of vintage wool cards for making wish bracelets. Thrifty.
