House Move
Forestbound
So in love with the new Forestbound website. I get all excited when something new hits the Forestbound Blog. Its fair to say I'm pretty in love with Forestbound in general. I feel that a recycled WW2 era canvas & leather bag might be in my future.
FYI Alice "Forestbound" Saunders is the most adorable girl in the world.

Crisp Autumn
The season feels like its coming to an end lately, doesn't it. And earlier than normal. The swifts have left Crouch End a lot earlier than they have in previous years, the blackberries are in season on the Heath and the mornings have that crispy nip in the air that is only associated with the arrival of my favourite of seasons, Autumn.
I've been working on a little collection of jewellery for my store which I'm setting free into the world on September 4th. Until then, I'm going to drip feed you images of Autumn to get your brains in the zone while I move house and put the finishing touches on the look book and collection.
Starting with this mix I have made over on 8tracks of Autumnal songs.

Moving Day
I'm moving house today, so things might be a bit quiet this weekend while I unpack and settle in. The store is closed until September 1st.
In the mean time look at this beautiful thing with your eyes. Its a bear riding a fucking EAGLE.

Super! 8!
I've just come home from a screening with work to see the film SUPER 8.
5 minutes before the film started a female colleague asked "are there any babes in this film?"

I realise this isn't helping my 'wow she really likes young boys' reputation right now, but look at these beautiful kids.
Look at them.
Also BTW
Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose!
My review of this film on a less superficial level is: Extremely good, very JJ Abrams (love that man!). I loved Cloverfield and pretty much thought this was Cloverfield + Goonies + ET - terrifyingness ET alien. I love the classic 'wtf is this all I saw was a leg this is terrifying OMG I am clawing my face off and screaming' JJ Abrams monster thing, but at the end of the day (film) he had a nice face. Unlike ET.
(Yes I realise I am 1 of 2 people in the world that find ET totally terrifying. If you also find ET totally terrifying, please let me know. The other person is my boyfriend. One day I'll explain it. Today is not that day.)

Secret Garden
I mentioned earlier that Steph and I had found a secret garden in Hampstead during out hungover wander the other weekend. Hampstead Hill Garden & Pergola is a gem if ever there was one. Local families dotted about enjoying the sun and quiet, beautiful flowers, shabby, overgrown architecture. It feels like going back in time, like we stumbled across some amazing secret. There were baby crows dotting the lawn and everything smelt of roses.
It appears to be so secret that it is quite hard to find any references to it on the internet, try this.

Lucy Snowe Photography.
The wonderful community spirit of Etsy! Lucy added one of my items to a treasury which lead me to her fantastic print store, where I spent some time day dreaming.

The Secret to Making a Good Etsy Treasury
This is the 3rd Etsy Treasury I've made that has ended up on the UK Front Page this year. What? Weird.
When I made this one last week, a couple of people were all lovely and stuff saying I compile a good Treasury. Let me tell you how I do it friends:
I take all of the things from throughout the week I've added to my faves and I bung them in a treasury together.
Its totally rocket science! Go forth!

Like.
There is something really calm about these prints that I feel drawn to. They also look great on tshirts.
National Portrait Gallery
A totally unplanned but successful trip to the National Portrait Gallery, which I am ashamed to admit I had not visited until now in all my 7 years in London, despite several failed planned trips. For shame, I know. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Ana and I walked around pointing out which of the men we fancied the most [who knew Charlie Dickens was quite the looker at 27 years old] and deciding what the people in the paintings were like as people. On Constable, you look so deep, so torn, so sensitive. Its so hard being so talented isn't it...
I found my heart in my mouth as I turned a corner to find some of Pontings more famous shots of Scott et al in the Victorian/explorer section [including my favourite ever photograph of Dr Atch] which was unexpected and exciting, probably only if you are me.
The Portrait of the Year Award was on and my god did it take my breath away. 'How is this not a photograph' was probably the most said sentance of the day. Check it out.
Also included above, token indie kid shot of Blur, and obligatory portrait of self in front of a living wall.

Heath House
One day I'm going to win the lottery and we are all going to move into Heath House. Every morning we can wake up, go for a walk on the Heath with the dogs (and ponies) before breakfast. The afternoons will be spent painting and making things and writing.Baking fresh bread and drinking fresh coffee.
One day.
